| 1. In order to modernize services and improve accessibility for citizens, the Department of Posts (DoP) implemented changes to the Indian postal system with the Post Office Act, 2023, which went into force on June 18, 2024. These modifications are supported by the Post Office Rules, 2024 and Post Office Regulations, 2024, which go into effect on December 16, 2024.

| 2. Brig. Gen. Amitabh Jha of India, who was a member of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the Golan Heights, was recently recognized by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Jha’s dedication to UN peacekeeping efforts and leadership were commended by Guterres.

| 8. The SLINEX 24 (Sri Lanka – India Exercise 2024) just took place at Visakhapatnam, India. Between India and Sri Lanka, this is a bilateral naval exercise. With the Indian side attending through INS Sumitra, the exercise’s Sea Phase comprised joint activities by Special Forces of both the navies, cannon firings, communication drills, seamanship, navigation evolutions, and helicopter operations.SLINEX 24 (श्रीलंका – भारत सराव 2024) नुकताच भारतातील विशाखापट्टणम येथे पार पडला. भारत आणि श्रीलंका यांच्यातील हा द्विपक्षीय नौदल सराव आहे. भारतीय बाजूने INS सुमित्रा द्वारे उपस्थिती दर्शविल्याने, सरावाच्या सागरी टप्प्यात दोन्ही नौदलांच्या विशेष दलांच्या संयुक्त क्रियाकलाप, तोफांचा मारा, दळणवळण सराव, नौकाविहार, नेव्हिगेशन उत्क्रांती आणि हेलिकॉप्टर ऑपरेशन्स यांचा समावेश होता. |
