| 1. A new mechanism for currency exchanges between SAARC nations has been established, spanning the years 2024–2027. This is a significant update from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). This initiative aims to help South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) member countries maintain financial stability. The Reserve Bank of India’s action is part of continuous efforts to promote financial cooperation among SAARC countries. Exchange rates and currency swaps are financial tools that assist countries in effectively managing foreign exchange and liquidity issues, hence maintaining global economic stability.

| 3. SpaceX successfully launched the GOES-U satellite for NASA. This marks the end of the NOAA programme to improve weather tracking over the Western Hemisphere. The launch occurred at NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre. The satellite was launched on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket.

This programme will classify and rank 174 nations in the globe based on their readiness to employ AI. The purpose of this research, as stated on their website, is to determine how successfully each country can employ and adapt AI technologies.

| 5. Arundati Roy, an Indian novelist, just received the PEN Pinter Prize for 2023. The prize was established in honour of the renowned playwright Harold Pinter. The prize is awarded to writers of “outstanding literary merit” who take the world seriously and ponder about it. Roy was overjoyed to get the prized honour. She is noted for her literary abilities and critical involvement with global and Indian sociopolitical concerns.
