1. Over the past ten years, India’s ecosystem for intellectual property rights (IPR) has expanded dramatically. But in 2024, patent applications stalled and received relatively few approvals, which sparked worries that innovation is being hampered by a lack of private sector R&D spending.

Union of India Case, 2024.
