1. Recently, Meta was fined Rs 213.14 crore by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for violating its dominant position by means of a privacy policy modification for WhatsApp. This decision stipulates that user permission must be secured for any data sharing and forbids WhatsApp from distributing user data to other Meta firms for advertising uses.

1. The Supreme Court (SC) has rejected a PIL aiming at re-introduction of ballot papers in place of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT).

1. Armenia has been admitted as the 104th complete member of the International Solar Alliance (ISA). Armenia’s Ambassador to India, Vahagn Afyan, and Abhishek Singh from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, respectively, exchanged official documents to formalize this significant development, which was announced by the Armenian Embassy in India.

About AFCAT

The AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) is a nationwide entrance examination administered by the Indian Air Force to recruit candidates for various officer positions in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty Branches (Technical and Non-Technical). This is an overview of AFCAT recruiting.

Criteria for Eligibility:

1. Nationality: Applicants must be nationals of India.
2. Age Restriction: – Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years
– Ground Duty Branches: Ages 20 to 26
3. Academic Credentials:
– Flying Branch: Candidates must possess a minimum of 60% marks in Graduation in any field, including Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level, or have a BE/B.Tech degree (60% marks) from a recognized institution.
– Ground Duty (Technical) Branch: Candidates are required to possess a minimum of 60% marks in their Engineering Graduation in the pertinent discipline or have successfully completed Sections A and B of the Associate Membership examination of the Institution of Engineers (India), the Aeronautical Society of India, or the Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers through formal studies.
– Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch: Candidates are required to possess a minimum of 60% marks in their undergraduate degree in any field or have successfully completed the Sections A and B examination of the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India through formal study.

Selection Procedure:
1. AFCAT Written Examination: Candidates must pass the AFCAT written examination, which comprises multiple-choice questions covering General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, and Military Aptitude Test.
2. AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) Testing: Candidates who are shortlisted will be summoned for AFSB testing, comprising many phases such as the Officer Intelligence Rating Test, Psychological Test, Group Tests, and Interview.
3. Medical Examination: Candidates who pass the AFSB assessment will receive a thorough medical examination.
The definitive merit list is compiled according to the candidate’s performance in the written examination, AFSB assessment, and medical evaluation.

Procedure for Application:
Candidates must submit their applications online for AFCAT via the official Indian Air Force website (https://afcat.cdac.in/).
The application procedure entails completing the application form, submitting scanned papers, and remitting the application cost.
The application cost is non-refundable and may be paid online via many payment methods.
