1. After the sad death of Rakesh Pal, S Paramesh has been named as the new Director General of the Indian Coast Guard. The group wants to stay at the top of maritime security, so this choice is very important.

राकेश पाल यांच्या दुःखद निधनानंतर एस परमेश यांची भारतीय तटरक्षक दलाचे नवीन महासंचालक म्हणून नियुक्ती करण्यात आली आहे. या गटाला सागरी सुरक्षेच्या शीर्षस्थानी राहायचे आहे, त्यामुळे ही निवड अत्यंत महत्त्वाची आहे.
2. The 19th International Conference of Drug Regulatory Authorities (ICDRA) will be held in India for the first time from October 14th to October 18th, 2024. People from over 194 WHO partner countries who work in health and regulatory bodies are meeting at this important event. The meeting shows that India is becoming more important in global health care, especially after taking the lead during the COVID-19 outbreak.

औषध नियामक प्राधिकरणांची (ICDRA) 19वी आंतरराष्ट्रीय परिषद भारतात प्रथमच 14 ऑक्टोबर ते 18 ऑक्टोबर 2024 या कालावधीत होणार आहे. आरोग्य आणि नियामक संस्थांमध्ये काम करणाऱ्या 194 हून अधिक WHO भागीदार देशांतील लोक या महत्त्वाच्या कार्यक्रमात भेटत आहेत. विशेषत: कोविड-19 च्या उद्रेकादरम्यान पुढाकार घेतल्यानंतर जागतिक आरोग्य सेवेमध्ये भारत अधिक महत्त्वपूर्ण होत असल्याचे या बैठकीत दिसून आले.
3. The Indian Navy’s first Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPV) project ship was launched at L&T Kattupalli. It was built by L&T Shipyard. The event was led by Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, who is the Chief of Naval Staff. This is a big deal for Indian shipyards. The ship, called “Samarthak,” which means “Supporter” in Hindi, was launched by Mrs. Shashi Tripathi, who is the President of the Naval Wives Welfare Association.

4. The National Electricity Plan (Transmission) has been launched by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA). India’s ability to use green energy is supposed to grow a lot with this plan. It aims to have more than 600 GW of green energy by 2032 and 500 GW by 2030. At a meeting in New Delhi on October 14–15, 2024, Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal talked about the plan.

केंद्रीय विद्युत प्राधिकरणाने (CEA) राष्ट्रीय विद्युत योजना (पारेषण) लाँच केली आहे. या योजनेमुळे हरित ऊर्जा वापरण्याची भारताची क्षमता खूप वाढणार आहे. 2032 पर्यंत 600 GW पेक्षा जास्त आणि 2030 पर्यंत 500 GW पेक्षा जास्त हरित ऊर्जा मिळवण्याचे उद्दिष्ट आहे. 14-15 ऑक्टोबर 2024 रोजी नवी दिल्ली येथे झालेल्या बैठकीत केंद्रीय मंत्री श्री मनोहर लाल यांनी या योजनेबद्दल सांगितले.

In New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two significant events at the Bharat Mandapam: the 8th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) and the International Telecommunication Union – World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (ITU-WTSA). This is a unique event, as it marks the inaugural hosting of the ITU-WTSA in India and the Asia-Pacific region.

6. The World Health Organization (WHO) said at an event in Berlin that it has gotten new grant promises of $700 million for its budget for 2025–2028. This is on top of the $300 million that the European Union and the African Union already offered.

7. The Centre’s air pollution control council has activated Stage I of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) due to the deterioration of air quality in Delhi and the adjacent areas (NCR).
