1. India has made significant advances in social protection coverage. The Ministry of Labour and Employment, in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO), has launched a comprehensive data-sharing initiative. This initiative attempts to improve understanding of social protection benefits throughout the country. According to recent statistics, 65% of India’s population, or nearly 92 crore individuals, receives at least one social safety benefit.

भारताने सामाजिक संरक्षण कव्हरेजमध्ये लक्षणीय प्रगती केली आहे. कामगार आणि रोजगार मंत्रालयाने आंतरराष्ट्रीय कामगार संघटना (ILO) च्या भागीदारीत एक व्यापक डेटा-शेअरिंग उपक्रम सुरू केला आहे. या उपक्रमाद्वारे देशभरात सामाजिक संरक्षणाच्या फायद्यांची समज सुधारण्याचा प्रयत्न केला जातो. अलीकडील आकडेवारीनुसार, भारतातील ६५% लोकसंख्येला, किंवा जवळजवळ ९२ कोटी व्यक्तींना, किमान एक सामाजिक सुरक्षा लाभ मिळतो.
2. During Singapore Maritime Week in March 2025, India and Singapore signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to work together on the Green and Digital Shipping Corridor (GDSC). This collaboration seeks to improve marine digitalization and decarbonisation. The agreement is designed to promote innovation and the use of low-emission technology in maritime industries.

3. The International Energy Agency’s Global Energy Review 2025 examines how extreme weather may affect energy consumption in 2024. The data showed an increase in energy use caused by record-high temperatures. Energy demand grew by 20%, mostly for natural gas and electricity. This expansion also prompted an increase in coal use. The paper presents a thorough picture of the energy sector’s evolution, including all fuels, technologies, and associated carbon dioxide emissions.

4. Recently, the Telangana Assembly passed the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act of 1994. This measure is intended to control organ transplantation and prevent unlawful commercial deals in human organs. The Telangana Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1995, was the state’s prior statute. However, the Central Act, notably its 2011 modifications, strengthens regulatory mechanisms and brings Telangana’s legislation in line with national norms.

5. Loitering munitions, sometimes known as “kamikaze drones,” are altering battle dynamics. These modern weapons combine the observation capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with the accuracy of guided missiles. They hover over their prey, monitoring them before striking with devastating accuracy. This technique allows for a seamless combination of intelligence collecting and destruction.

6. Animal genetic resources are critical to sustained food production and nutrition. They are the backbone of cattle development.
