The Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) have recently announced that they will be collaborating to develop a new instrument that can predict the movement of ships, thereby enhancing the safety of the seas. In order to formalise this initiative, the two organisations executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This proposal modifies the existing Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) by shifting funds to facilitate the expansion and accessibility of phone services.

1. Vikram Misri has been appointed India’s next Foreign Secretary. He’ll start his new position on July 15. Vinay Mohan Kwatra’s tenure was extended by six months earlier this year, and this appointment follows it. According to a government statement issued by the Personnel Ministry, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the appointment. Misri was elevated, although his responsibilities as Deputy National Security Advisor (NSA) were also reduced.
