1. What is SSC JE 2025?

SSC JE is a national-level exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to recruit Junior Engineers (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) for various government departments such as CPWD, BRO, MES, and others.

2. Which posts are being filled under this recruitment?

The posts include:

• Junior Engineer (Civil)

• Junior Engineer (Mechanical)

• Junior Engineer (Electrical)

• Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical)

These are Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted posts.

3. How many vacancies are there in total?

There are 1340 vacancies across multiple central government departments.

4. What is the eligibility or qualification required?

You must have:

• Diploma or Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering

• Qualification must be from a recognized institution or university

5. Is work experience required to apply?

No prior experience is required. However, for some departments like MES or BRO, 2 years of work experience may be required — details will be in the official notification.

The recruitment process includes two stages:

Paper I (Objective – 200 marks)

• General Intelligence & Reasoning – 50 marks

• General Awareness – 50 marks

• General Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical) – 100 marks

Paper II (Subject – 300 marks)

• Based on the branch chosen (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical)

• Duration: 2 hours

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper I.

• General/OBC/EWS: ₹100

• SC/ST/PWD/ExSM/Women: No fee

10. When will the exams be held?

Both Paper I and Paper II are Computer-Based (Online) exams.
