1. In the case “Tanvi Behl v. Shrey Goel and others, 2025,” the Supreme Court of India declared domicile-based reservation for Post-Graduate (PG) medical admissions to be unconstitutional. This decision was made in response to petitions against a Punjab and Haryana High Court ruling that had previously eliminated such reservations.

भारताच्या संरक्षण मंत्रालयात अलिकडच्या काळात प्राणघातक स्वायत्त शस्त्रे प्रणाली (LAWS) वर प्रायोगिक संशोधन सुरू आहे. हे संशोधन आधुनिक तंत्रज्ञानाच्या परिवर्तनशील शक्तीचे संकेत देते. ते जबाबदारी, अधिकार आणि नैतिक वापराबद्दल महत्त्वाचे मुद्दे उपस्थित करते. मनोहर पर्रिकर संरक्षण अभ्यास आणि विश्लेषण संस्थेने या प्रकल्पात मदत केली.
2. After closure since May 2024, the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt has reopened for medical evacuations. 6. Public health issues in Pune district, Maharashtra, now center the Zika virus. Out of 151 confirmed cases of Zika recorded in India in 2024, Pune accounted for 125 Health authorities as well as the World Health Organisation (WHO) have noticed this increase in instances. The WHO verified that these Indian cases have not been connected to any major problems such microcephaly or Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS).

7. The Bombay High Court has dismissed a petition that was submitted under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. The court determined that the alleged offenses did not take place in “public view,” a critical criterion for prosecution under the Act. This ruling underscores the significance of specific conditions that must be satisfied in order for proceedings under the SC/ST Act to be maintained.

For the 2024–25 academic year, students in Maharashtra who were accepted under the Socially and Economically Backward Classes (SEBC) quota have been given an additional three months to turn in their Caste Validation Certificates (CVCs). In June 2024, a six-month extension was first approved. April 2025 is now the new deadline. Students applying for admission under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) quota are also eligible for this extension. According to the administration, this would be the last extension, and admission may be denied if the CVC is not submitted by the due date.

1. The “Inland Mangrove Guneri” in Kutch was just named the first Biodiversity Heritage Site (BHS) in the state by the Gujarat Biodiversity Board. Protecting a special mangrove ecosystem that flourishes in a non-tidal setting is the goal of this project. The 32.78-hectare property is designated for its natural variety. The announcement marks a significant turning point in Gujarat’s dedication to protecting biodiversity.

गुजरात जैवविविधता मंडळाने कच्छमधील “इनलँड मॅन्ग्रोव्ह गुनेरी” ला राज्यातील पहिले जैवविविधता वारसा स्थळ (BHS) म्हणून नुकतेच नाव दिले आहे. भरती-ओहोटी नसलेल्या ठिकाणी वाढणाऱ्या एका विशेष मॅन्ग्रोव्ह परिसंस्थेचे संरक्षण करणे हे या प्रकल्पाचे ध्येय आहे. ३२.७८ हेक्टरची ही मालमत्ता त्याच्या नैसर्गिक विविधतेसाठी नियुक्त केली आहे. ही घोषणा गुजरातच्या जैवविविधतेचे संरक्षण करण्याच्या समर्पणातील एक महत्त्वाचा टप्पा आहे.

According to a study conducted by the University of Southampton and NIT Rourkela, the health of ecosystems is impacted by the blockage of plant stomata and the reduction of carbon absorption caused by coal mining dust, which in turn harms plants and vegetation.
