1. World Braille Day is annually celebrated on January 4, the birthday of Braille inventor, Louis Braille.

2. In the honour of 200th birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, WHO designated the year 2020 as the “Year of Nurse and Midwife”.
फ्लॉरेन्स नाईटिंगेलच्या 200 व्या जयंतीनिमित्त डब्ल्यूएचओने वर्ष 2020 ला “नर्स व मिडवाइफ वर्ष” म्हणून नियुक्त केले.

3. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal of Ministry of Home Affairs for extending the deputation tenure of IPS Abhinav Kumar, Inspector General, Border Security Force (BSF), up to June 27, 2021, in relaxation of IPS Tenure Policy.
आयपीएस कार्यकाळ धोरणात सवलत घालून सीमा सुरक्षा बल (BSF) महानिरीक्षक, आयपीएस अभिनव कुमार यांच्या प्रतिनियुक्तीची मुदत 27 जून 2021 पर्यंत वाढविण्याच्या गृहमंत्रालयाच्या प्रस्तावाला मंत्रिमंडळाच्या नियुक्ती समितीने मान्यता दिली.

4. The union government approved setting up 2,636 electric vehicle charging stations across 62 cities in 24 states and union territories of India under the second phase of the FAME India scheme.
फेम इंडिया योजनेच्या दुसऱ्या टप्प्यात केंद्र सरकारने 24 राज्यांतील आणि केंद्रशासित प्रदेशांमधील 62 शहरांमध्ये 2,636 इलेक्ट्रिक वाहन चार्जिंग स्टेशन सुरू करण्यास मान्यता दिली.

5. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani unveils the second tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the world at Ahmedabad. Salient features of Statue Around 50 feet tall bronze statue with a weight of 70 thousand kilograms unveiled at the Sardardham campus near the Vaishnodevi Circle in Ahmedabad.
गुजरातचे मुख्यमंत्री विजय रुपाणी यांनी अहमदाबाद येथे सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल यांच्या जगातील दुसर्‍या क्रमांकाच्या पुतळ्याचे अनावरण केले. अहमदाबादच्या वैष्णोदेवी सर्कलजवळील सरदारधाम परिसरामध्ये सुमारे 50 फूट उंच 70 हजार किलो पितळी पुतळ्याचे अनावरण झाले.

6. Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei named as the Deputy Head of the Revolutionary Guards foreign operations arm Esmail Qaani to replace Qasem Soleimani as its commander. Soleimani killed in a pre-dawn US strike in Baghdad.
इराणचा सर्वोच्च नेता अयातुल्ला अली खमानेई यांना क्रांतिकारक कमांडर्सचे उपप्रमुख म्हणून नियुक्त केले गेले, त्यांनी कासिम सोलीमणीची सेनापती म्हणून नियुक्ती करण्यासाठी एम्स इमानी कैनी यांची नियुक्ती केली. अमेरिकेच्या पूर्व बगदाद हल्ल्यात सोहलिमानी ठार झाले.

7. Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed condolences on behalf of all Indians to damage to life and property in Australia due to severe and prolonged bushfires
पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी तीव्र आणि दीर्घकाळ चालणाऱ्या बुशफायर्समुळे ऑस्ट्रेलियामधील जीवित व मालमत्तेचे नुकसान केल्याबद्दल सर्व भारतीयांच्या वतीने शोक व्यक्त केले.

8. Unified Payments Interface (UPI) raised 1.3 billion transactions in December at National Payments Corp. of India (NPCI). These transactions were 7% higher than in October and 111% higher on a year-on-year basis, the data showed.
युनिफाइड पेमेंट्स इंटरफेस (UPI) ने राष्ट्रीय पेमेंट्स कॉर्पोरेशन येथे डिसेंबरमध्ये 1.3 अब्ज व्यवहार वाढवले. ऑफ इंडिया (एनपीसीआय) ऑक्टोबरच्या तुलनेत हे व्यवहार 7% जास्त आणि वार्षिक आधारावर 111% जास्त होते, असे आकडेवारीत दिसून आले आहे.

9. India strongly condemned vandalism at Nankana Sahib Gurudwara in Pakistan. The Pakistan Government to take immediate steps to ensure the safety, security, and welfare of the members of the Sikh community.
