1. In March 2024, India’s goods exports totaled USD 41.68 billion, down 0.67% from the previous year’s total but still higher than the FY 2022–2023 total. Conversely, within the same time frame, imports decreased by 6% to USD 57.3 billion. For the first time in eleven months, the goods trade deficit shrank to USD 15.6 billion.

2. The strategic importance of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (ANI) in the Indo-Pacific area is highlighted by the Indian government’s increased attention on developing the islands, which has prompted measures to improve security and infrastructure. It is long overdue and demonstrates a lack of strategic marine vision since Independence that there has been a recent focus on developing military and civilian strategic infrastructure on the islands.

3. A recent study by the data research organisation Land Conflict Watch, which monitors land-related disputes in India, found a strong link between land conflicts and the Forest Rights Act’s (FRA) implementation.

4. India has started building its own “bullet train” that will go faster than any train on the Indian Railways network, going over 250 kilometres per hour (kmph).

5. A big step forward was reached when the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) signed a record 125 Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs) with Indian customers in the fiscal year 2023–24. This includes 86 Unilateral APAs (UAPAs) and 39 Bilateral APAs (BAPAs). This is the most APAs that have been signed in a single financial year since the scheme began.
केंद्रीय प्रत्यक्ष कर मंडळाने (CBDT) आर्थिक वर्ष 2023-24 मध्ये भारतीय ग्राहकांसह विक्रमी 125 आगाऊ किंमत करार (APAs) वर स्वाक्षरी केल्यावर एक मोठे पाऊल पुढे आले. यामध्ये 86 एकतर्फी एपीए (यूएपीए) आणि 39 द्विपक्षीय एपीए (बीएपीए) समाविष्ट आहेत. योजना सुरू झाल्यापासून एकाच आर्थिक वर्षात स्वाक्षरी केलेले हे सर्वाधिक एपीए आहेत.

6. The Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar award will be given to Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan on April 24, 2024. The award was created by the Mangeshkar family to honour the late, famous singer Lata Mangeshkar, who died on February 6, 2022. The award is given to people who have done groundbreaking things for their country, its people, and society.

7. Astronomers have discovered the largest stellar-mass black hole yet observed in our galaxy, the Milky Way. Designated as Gaia BH3, this celestial object is a black hole situated at a distance of around 2,000 light-years from Earth in the Aquila constellation. It has the distinction of being the second-nearest black hole to our planet that is currently known. The identification was achieved by the examination of data gathered from the Gaia mission conducted by the European Space Agency. This data revealed the detection of a star exhibiting a noticeable oscillation in close proximity to the black hole, thus proving the existence of the black hole.
खगोलशास्त्रज्ञांनी आपल्या आकाशगंगेमध्ये, आकाशगंगेमध्ये पाहिलेले सर्वात मोठे तारकीय-वस्तुमान कृष्णविवर शोधले आहे.
