1. The S&P Global commodity insights recently released the ranking of the top 250 independent energy producers in the world. The energy producers were ranked based on four criteria such as return on investment, revenue generation, total assets, and profits gained. NTPC topped the ranking.
S&P ग्लोबल कमोडिटी इनसाइट्सने अलीकडेच जगातील शीर्ष 250 स्वतंत्र ऊर्जा उत्पादकांची क्रमवारी जाहीर केली आहे. गुंतवणुकीवरील परतावा, महसूल निर्मिती, एकूण मालमत्ता आणि मिळालेला नफा या चार निकषांवर ऊर्जा उत्पादकांची क्रमवारी लावली गेली. NTPC क्रमवारीत अव्वल स्थानावर आहे.

2. China and Japan held a security dialogue for the first time in four years. It was held in Tokyo. During the meeting, the countries agreed to strengthen their security relations and communication. They will work to gain mutual trust. Also, they agreed to bring upon a framework of maritime and air liaison.
चीन आणि जपानमध्ये चार वर्षांत प्रथमच सुरक्षा संवाद झाला. टोकियो येथे आयोजित करण्यात आला होता. बैठकीदरम्यान, देशांनी आपले सुरक्षा संबंध आणि संवाद मजबूत करण्यावर सहमती दर्शवली. ते परस्पर विश्वास संपादन करण्यासाठी काम करतील. तसेच, त्यांनी सागरी आणि हवाई संपर्काची चौकट आणण्याचे मान्य केले.

3. Brazil is the largest beef exporter in the world. And China is one of the largest beef consumers in the world. Brazil recently suspended its beef exports to China due to mad cow disease.

4. An earthquake of 7.2 Ritcher recently hit Tajikistan. The epicentre of the earthquake was just 82 km away from China border. The quake was felt in the western part of the Xinjiang region. The earthquake was first reported by the Chinese.
ताजिकिस्तानमध्ये नुकताच ७.२ रिशरचा भूकंप झाला. भूकंपाचा केंद्रबिंदू चीन सीमेपासून अवघ्या 82 किमी अंतरावर होता. शिनजियांग प्रदेशाच्या पश्चिम भागात भूकंपाचे धक्के जाणवले. या भूकंपाची माहिती सर्वप्रथम चिनी लोकांनी दिली होती.

5. The Government of India recently issued an order to boost sustainable agriculture in Jammu and Kashmir.
जम्मू आणि काश्मीरमध्ये शाश्वत शेतीला चालना देण्यासाठी भारत सरकारने अलीकडेच एक आदेश जारी केला आहे.

6. The FBI recently released its annual compilation of nationwide incidents. According to the report, Sikhs and Jews are the most targeted in hate crimes. There were 1005 religion-related hate crimes in the US in 2021. Of these, anti-Sikhs were 21.3% and Anti-Jews were 21.3%.

7. The tech giant Google recently announced that it is to block news content to at least 4% of Canadians. Google is doing this as a response to a new Canadian Law. However, Google has announced that it will be temporary.

8. The Minister of Textiles Shri Piyush Goyal recently headed the Textile Advisory Group meeting. During the meeting, the issues in the cotton value chain were discussed.

9. The Ministry of External Affairs recently hosted the Asia Economic Dialogue in Pune. The main focus of the dialogue was on Geo-economics. It was conducted under the theme “Asia and the Emerging World Order”.

10. Three million litres of sewage are dumped into the holy Ganges every day. It is the fifth most polluted river in the world. To reduce the pollution in the river, the Namami Gange Executive Committee recently approved nine projects. These projects are to be implemented at a cost of Rs 1,200 crores.
दररोज तीन दशलक्ष लिटर सांडपाणी पवित्र गंगेत टाकले जाते. ती जगातील पाचव्या क्रमांकाची प्रदूषित नदी आहे. नदीतील प्रदूषण कमी करण्यासाठी नमामि गंगे कार्यकारी समितीने नुकतीच नऊ प्रकल्पांना मंजुरी दिली. हे प्रकल्प 1,200 कोटी रुपये खर्चून राबविण्यात येणार आहेत.
