1. India improved its rank in the Global Innovation Index to 52nd, in 2019, making a significant jump of 5 places in a year.
भारताने ग्लोबल इनोवेशन इंडेक्समध्ये 2019 मध्ये 52 व्या स्थानी सुधारणा केली आहे, ज्यामुळे वर्षभरात 5 जागेची महत्त्वपूर्ण वाढ झाली आहे.

2. US regulators formalized a record 5 billion US Dollar fine on Facebook for violation of users’ privacy in the Cambridge Analytica data scandal involving 87 million users.
केंब्रिज ऍनालिटिका डेटा स्कँडलमध्ये 87 दशलक्ष वापरकर्त्यांचा समावेश असलेल्या वापरकर्त्यांच्या गोपनीयतेचे उल्लंघन केल्याबद्दल अमेरिकेच्या नियामकांनी फेसबुकवर 5 अब्ज अमेरिकी डॉलर्सचा दंड ठोठावला.

3. Asian Development Bank has sanctioned 1,925 crore rupees project for up-gradation of power generation and distribution in Tripura.

7. American digital payments firm PayPal announced expansion of its India footprint with the launch of third global technology centre. PayPal India house involves 100 engineers across roles including risk management and operations.
अमेरिकन डिजिटल पेमेंट फर्म पेपॅलने तिसऱ्या जागतिक तंत्रज्ञान केंद्राच्या प्रक्षेपणाने भारताच्या पाऊलखुणाचे विस्तार वाढविण्याचे जाहीर केले. पेपॅल इंडियाच्या घरात 100 अभियंते समाविष्ट आहेत ज्यात जोखमीचे व्यवस्थापन आणि ऑपरेशन्स समाविष्ट आहेत.

8. The Rajya Sabha passed the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Amendment) Bill, 2019 (POCSO Bill) on 24 July. The Bill will now be sent to Lok Sabha for its approval.
24 जुलै रोजी राज्यसभेने मुलांच्या लैंगिक अत्याचार पासून बाल संरक्षण (दुरुस्ती) विधेयक, 2019 (पॉस्को विधेयक) मंजूर केले आहे. आता लोकसभेला मंजुरीसाठी विधेयक पाठविला जाईल.

9. Union Cabinet has approved the merger of National Institute of Miners’ Health with ICMR – National Institute of Occupational Health.

10. Russian boxer Maxim Dadashev has died at the age of 28 following injuries suffered in his IBF light-welterweight fight against Subriel Matias.
28 वर्षांच्या वयात रशियन बॉक्सर मॅक्सिम दादाशेवचे निधन झाले. त्याच्या आईबीएफ लाइट-वेल्टरवेट लढ्यात सुब्रेल मतीस यांच्या विरोधात झालेल्या दुखापतीनंतर मृत्यू झाला.
