| 1. Under the Paris Agreement, India has officially sent the United Nations climate body its new Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) for the years 2031 to 2035. The new promises are mostly about making more clean energy, lowering the amount of pollution that comes from it, and making more carbon sinks by planting trees and forests. India also made it clear that getting these goals done will depend on money, technology, and training from developed countries, as promised in global climate agreements. Advertisement
पॅरिस करारांतर्गत, भारताने संयुक्त राष्ट्रांच्या हवामानविषयक संस्थेकडे (UN climate body) सन २०२१ ते २०३५ या कालावधीसाठीची आपली नवीन ‘राष्ट्रीय निर्धारित योगदान’ (NDCs) अधिकृतपणे सादर केली आहेत. या नवीन वचनबद्धता प्रामुख्याने अधिक स्वच्छ ऊर्जेची निर्मिती करणे, त्यातून होणारे प्रदूषण कमी करणे आणि वृक्षारोपण व वनीकरण याद्वारे अधिक ‘कार्बन सिंक’ (कार्बन शोषक क्षेत्रे) निर्माण करणे या बाबींवर आधारित आहेत. भारताने हे देखील स्पष्ट केले आहे की, ही उद्दिष्टे साध्य करणे हे विकसित देशांकडून मिळणाऱ्या आर्थिक साहाय्यावर, तंत्रज्ञानावर आणि प्रशिक्षणावर अवलंबून असेल; ज्याचे आश्वासन जागतिक हवामान करारांमध्ये देण्यात आले आहे. |
| 2. The Supreme Court has said that ending a live-in relationship is not a crime if both people agreed to it. The court said that emotional pain alone cannot turn a consensual relationship into a criminal case while hearing the plea of a woman who had lived with a man for 15 years and had a child with him. After her ex-boyfriend married another woman, the woman tried to get him arrested for sexual exploitation and harassment. सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने असे स्पष्ट केले आहे की, जर दोन्ही व्यक्तींची संमती असेल, तर ‘लिव्ह-इन’ (सहजीवन) संबंध संपुष्टात आणणे हा गुन्हा ठरत नाही. एका महिलेच्या याचिकेवर सुनावणी करताना न्यायालयाने हे निरीक्षण नोंदवले; या महिलेने एका पुरुषासोबत १५ वर्षे सहजीवन व्यतीत केले होते आणि त्यांना एक अपत्यही होते. आपल्या माजी प्रियकराने दुसऱ्या एका महिलेशी विवाह केल्यानंतर, त्या महिलेने लैंगिक शोषण आणि छळाचा आरोप करत त्याला अटक करवून घेण्याचा प्रयत्न केला होता. |
| 3. The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change has made Shekha Jheel Bird Sanctuary in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, a Ramsar site (Wetland of International Importance). This brings the total number of Ramsar sites in India to 99 and the number in the state to 12. केंद्रीय पर्यावरण, वन आणि हवामान बदल मंत्रालयाने, उत्तर प्रदेशातील अलीगढ येथील ‘शेखा झील पक्षी अभयारण्या’ला ‘रामसर स्थळ’ (आंतरराष्ट्रीय महत्त्वाचे पाणथळ क्षेत्र) म्हणून घोषित केले आहे. यामुळे भारतातील एकूण रामसर स्थळांची संख्या 99 झाली असून, या राज्यातील अशा स्थळांची संख्या 12 वर पोहोचली आहे. |
| 4. The Government of India has improved the Minimum Support Price (MSP)-based procurement system under PM-AASHA. It has also expanded operations in Chhattisgarh and started Bihar’s first structured pulse procurement initiative under the Atmanirbhar Pulses Mission to help farmers and make them more self-sufficient. भारत सरकारने ‘PM-AASHA’ अंतर्गत किमान आधारभूत किमतीवर (MSP) आधारित खरेदी प्रणालीत सुधारणा केली आहे. तसेच, शेतकऱ्यांना मदत करण्यासाठी आणि त्यांना अधिक स्वावलंबी बनवण्यासाठी, सरकारने छत्तीसगडमध्ये आपल्या कामकाजाचा विस्तार केला असून, ‘आत्मनिर्भर डाळ अभियाना’अंतर्गत बिहारमधील पहिला सुव्यवस्थित डाळ खरेदी उपक्रमही सुरू केला आहे. |

| 6. The Indian government recently suggested building a new broad-gauge railway line from Tikiri to connect the bauxite-rich hills of Sijimali and Kutrumali in Odisha. | 8. India has started its first official Formula 1 Sim Racing Championship. This is a big step toward connecting esports with real-life motorsport. Formula 1 and Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited have started the F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026, which gives virtual racers from all over the country a structured place to compete. The goal of the initiative is to find new talent and give them a direct path from simulator racing to the rest of the motorsport world. भारताने आपली पहिली अधिकृत ‘फॉर्म्युला 1 सिम रेसिंग चॅम्पियनशिप’ सुरू केली आहे. ई-स्पोर्ट्सला (esports) प्रत्यक्ष मोटरस्पोर्टशी जोडण्याच्या दिशेने हे एक महत्त्वपूर्ण पाऊल आहे. फॉर्म्युला 1 आणि ‘मुंबई फाल्कन्स रेसिंग लिमिटेड’ यांनी ‘F1 सिम रेसिंग इंडिया ओपन 2026’ ची सुरुवात केली आहे; ज्यामुळे देशभरातील व्हर्च्युअल रेसर्सना (आभासी शर्यतपटूंना) स्पर्धा करण्यासाठी एक सुव्यवस्थित व्यासपीठ उपलब्ध झाले आहे. या उपक्रमाचा मुख्य उद्देश नवीन प्रतिभावंतांचा शोध घेणे आणि त्यांना सिम्युलेटर रेसिंगपासून ते उर्वरित मोटरस्पोर्ट विश्वापर्यंत पोहोचण्याचा थेट मार्ग उपलब्ध करून देणे हा आहे. |
