1. National Sports Day (NSD) is celebrated every year in India on 29th of August to mark the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, who was known as ‘The Wizard’ or ‘The Magician’ of hockey for his superb ball control.
राष्ट्रीय क्रीडा दिन (NSD) भारतात दरवर्षी 29 ऑगस्ट रोजी महान हॉकीपटू मेजर ध्यानचंद यांच्या जयंतीनिमित्त साजरा केला जातो, ज्यांना त्यांच्या उत्कृष्ट चेंडू नियंत्रणासाठी हॉकीचे ‘द विझार्ड’ किंवा ‘द मॅजिशियन’ म्हणून ओळखले जाते.

2. The International Day Against Nuclear Tests is observed across every year across the world on 29 August with aim to raise awareness about the effects of nuclear weapon test explosions or any other nuclear explosions.
अण्वस्त्र चाचणी स्फोट किंवा इतर कोणत्याही अण्वस्त्र स्फोटांच्या परिणामांबद्दल जागरुकता निर्माण करण्याच्या उद्देशाने दरवर्षी 29 ऑगस्ट रोजी जगभरात अणुचाचण्यांविरुद्ध आंतरराष्ट्रीय दिवस साजरा केला जातो.

3. Recently, the Ministry of Jal Shakti unveiled a new initiative named ‘Arth Ganga’ under the Namami Gange program with an aim to boost economic activities along the banks of river Ganga.
अलीकडेच, जलशक्ती मंत्रालयाने गंगा नदीच्या काठावर आर्थिक क्रियाकलापांना चालना देण्याच्या उद्देशाने नमामि गंगे कार्यक्रमांतर्गत ‘अर्थ गंगा’ नावाच्या नवीन उपक्रमाचे अनावरण केले.

4. Environment Ministry has recently notified Battery Waste Management Rules 2022 for eco-friendly disposal of defective batteries. These rules will replace the Battery (Management and Handling) Rules, 2001.
पर्यावरण मंत्रालयाने नुकतेच सदोष बॅटरीची पर्यावरणपूरक विल्हेवाट लावण्यासाठी बॅटरी कचरा व्यवस्थापन नियम 2022 अधिसूचित केले आहेत. हे नियम बॅटरी (व्यवस्थापन आणि हाताळणी) नियम, 2001 ची जागा घेतील.

5. Recently, the central government’s ambitious scheme Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana has completed eight years. The main objective of this scheme was to include the poor section of the country in the main banking system.
नुकतीच केंद्र सरकारची महत्त्वाकांक्षी योजना प्रधानमंत्री जन धन योजनेला आठ वर्षे पूर्ण झाली आहेत. देशातील गरीब वर्गाचा मुख्य बँकिंग व्यवस्थेत समावेश करणे हा या योजनेचा मुख्य उद्देश होता.

6. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the iconic ‘Atal Bridge’ over the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat.

7. Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra recently won the Lausanne Diamond League with a best throw of 89.08m. He became the first Indian to win the Diamond League meeting title.
ऑलिम्पिक सुवर्णपदक विजेता नीरज चोप्राने अलीकडेच 89.08 मीटरच्या सर्वोत्तम थ्रोसह लॉसने डायमंड लीग जिंकली. डायमंड लीग मीटिंगचे विजेतेपद जिंकणारा तो पहिला भारतीय ठरला.
