1. Ladakh Literature Festival began on 29 October in Leh for the first time ever. The three-day fest will conclude on 31 October 2019. It will culminate on the day when Ladakh would formally become a Union Territory (UT) on 31 October.
29 ऑक्टोबर रोजी लेडा येथे प्रथमच लडाख साहित्य महोत्सव सुरू झाला. तीन दिवसीय महोत्सवाची सांगता 31 ऑक्टोबर 2019 रोजी होईल. ज्या दिवशी लडाख 31 ऑक्टोबरला औपचारिकपणे केंद्र शासित प्रदेश (यूटी) होईल त्या दिवशी ही समाप्ती होईल.

2. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will represent India at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) heads of state meeting, which is to be held in Uzbekistan on 2 November. Mr. Singh is to embark on a three-day visit to Uzbekistan from 1-3 November.
संरक्षण मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह 2 नोव्हेंबरला उझबेकिस्तानमध्ये होणाऱ्या शांघाय कोऑपरेशन ऑर्गनायझेशन (SCO) च्या प्रमुखांच्या बैठकीत भारताचे प्रतिनिधित्व करतील. श्री. सिंह 1-3 नोव्हेंबर दरम्यान तीन दिवसांच्या उझबेकिस्तान दौर्‍यावर जाणार आहेत.

3. World Bank, the multi-lateral funding agency, has announced that it is to continue providing a $6 billion annual lending target for India to support infrastructure development and alleviate poverty.
मल्टी-लेटरल फंडिंग एजन्सी, वर्ल्ड बँकेने जाहीर केले आहे की पायाभूत सुविधांच्या विकासासाठी आणि दारिद्र्य दूर करण्यासाठी भारताला वार्षिक 6 अब्ज डॉलर्सचे कर्ज देण्याचे लक्ष्य ठेवले जाईल.

4. Manohar Lal Khattar was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana for a second term on 27 October. He will lead the BJP-JJP (Jannayak Janata Party) coalition government in the state.
मनोहर लाल खट्टर यांनी 27 ऑक्टोबरला दुसर्‍या कार्यकाळात हरियाणाचे मुख्यमंत्री म्हणून शपथ घेतली. ते राज्यात भाजप-जेजेपी (जननायक जनता पार्टी) आघाडी सरकारचे नेतृत्व करतील.

5. Former Belgian Budget Minister Sophie Wilmes has taken office as the first female Prime Minister in the country’s 189-year history. She was named as the head of the country’s next caretaker government.
बेल्जियमचे माजी बजेट मंत्री सोफी विल्म्स यांनी देशाच्या 189 वर्षांच्या इतिहासातील प्रथम महिला पंतप्रधान म्हणून पदभार स्वीकारला आहे. देशाच्या पुढील काळजीवाहू सरकारच्या प्रमुख म्हणून तिला नाव देण्यात आले.

6. Odisha’s Kotpad Notified Area Council (NAC) launched a unique initiative to deal with plastic waste. Under the initiative, it is giving away a free meal for one kilogram of plastic waste. Aahar centres are accepting polythene bags, plastic bottles, single-use plastic materials in exchange for a Rs.5 meal.
ओडिशाच्या कोटपॅड नोटिफाइड एरिया कौन्सिलने (NAC) प्लास्टिकच्या कचर्‍याचा सामना करण्यासाठी एक अनोखा उपक्रम सुरू केला. या उपक्रमांतर्गत ते एक किलो प्लास्टिक कचऱ्यासाठी मोफत जेवण देत आहेत. आहर केंद्रे पॉलिथिनच्या पिशव्या, प्लास्टिकच्या बाटल्या, एकट्या वापरल्या जाणार्‍या प्लास्टिक सामग्रीला पाच रुपयांच्या जेवणाच्या बदल्यात स्वीकारत आहेत.

7. Japanese academic and diplomat Sadako Ogata died at the age of 92. She was the first female to be appointed UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
जपानी शैक्षणिक आणि मुत्सद्दी सदाको ओगाता यांचे वयाच्या 92 व्या वर्षी निधन झाले. शरणार्थींसाठी यूएन उच्चायुक्त म्हणून नियुक्त होणारी ती पहिली महिला होती.

8. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that the free-ride scheme for women on Delhi public buses might be extended to senior citizens and all students.
दिल्लीचे मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल यांनी जाहीर केले की दिल्लीतील सार्वजनिक बसमधील महिलांसाठी फ्री-राइड योजना ज्येष्ठ नागरिक आणि सर्व विद्यार्थ्यांपर्यंत वाढविली जाऊ शकते.

9. The Central government has formed a panel to suggest measures to mitigate financial stress in the sector. The move comes after the Supreme Court ordered telecom companies to pay Rs.1.42 trillion in past statutory dues.
या क्षेत्रातील आर्थिक ताण कमी करण्यासाठी उपाययोजना सुचविण्यासाठी केंद्र सरकारने एक पॅनेल गठित केले आहे. सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने दूरसंचार कंपन्यांना मागील वैधानिक थकीत 1.42 ट्रिलियन रुपये देण्याचे आदेश दिल्यानंतर हे पाऊल उचलण्यात आले आहे.

10. Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM (C)) secured the 17th rank globally in the Financial Times Masters in Management Rankings 2019.
इंडियन इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ मॅनेजमेंट कलकत्ता (IIM (C)) ने मॅनेजमेंट रँकिंग्ज 2019 मध्ये फायनान्शियल टाईम्स मास्टर्समध्ये जागतिक स्तरावर 17 वा क्रमांक मिळविला आहे.
