2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

3. Members of the Polish Parliament backed Donald Tusk to become Poland’s Prime Minister after current leader Mateusz Morawiecki lost a confidence vote in the country’s Parliament. According to media reports, the vote was 248 in favour and 201 against.

4. The Government has said that 58 Airports in the country have been covered under the Krishi Udan Scheme.The Scheme was launched in 2020 on international and national routes to assist farmers in transporting agricultural products to help improve their value realization.

6. A recent analysis by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) has revealed that less than eight percent of India’s coal-based power plants have adopted the recommended technology to control sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions.

7. A new United Nations report, “State of Finance for Nature,” reveals that countries invest nearly $7 trillion annually in subsidies and private investments with direct negative impacts on nature. This staggering figure accounts for 7% of the global gross domestic product, highlighting the urgent need for a shift in financial practices.

5. India has announced a USD 250 million line of credit to Kenya for modernisation of its agricultural sector during the recent visit of Kenya’s President to India. A line of credit (LOC) is a predetermined borrowing limit that is accessible whenever necessary. The borrower can withdraw funds as required until reaching the established limit, and once repaid, the funds can be borrowed again in the case of an open line of credit.

The recognition was formalized during the 18th meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage held from 5th to 9th December, 2023, in Kasane, Botswana.
