| 1. Recently, India and the US revealed a strategic agreement to work together on making sonobuoys for the Indian Navy’s Undersea Domain Awareness (UDA). This plan shows that both countries are worried about China’s growing navy force in the Indian Ocean. The partnership was made public during the visit of U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan to India, whose main goal was to boost defense innovation and business cooperation.

| 2. Indian Railways is working on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, which is a piece of infrastructure. The Main IIT-M campus is approximately 36 km away from the Discovery satellite campus in Thaiyur, where this development is situated. Corporate profitability has been negatively impacted by factors such as a decrease in urban demand, diminished government expenditure as a result of the model code of conduct, and disruptions caused by the monsoon, which have had an impact on CT collections.

| 1. Two new tests from the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) have taken space research to a new level. ISRO reported on January 4, 2025, that cowpea seeds had grown successfully in space. This was a big step forward in agricultural study beyond Earth. This was done not long after the PSLV-C60 SpaDeX mission, which took off on December 30, 2024, bringing 24 packages, including the PS4-Orbital Experiment Module (POEM-4).

| 2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently opened over ₹12,200 crore worth of building projects in Delhi. The goal of these projects is to make it easier for millions of people to meet and get around. The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat route and the Janakpuri-Krishna Park part of Delhi Metro Phase-IV are two important projects. The government says these projects will improve Delhi’s facilities and help India reach its goal of becoming a developed country.

| 3. The Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA) is busy making a detailed action plan to look into and keep an eye on the mountain lakes in the area. The goal of this project is to set up early warning systems to stop tragedies like glacier lake outburst floods (GLOFs). The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has found 13 glacial lakes in Uttarakhand. Of these, five are considered to be very dangerous. This attempt comes after disasters caused by GLOFs in the past, showing the need for better risk management and tracking.

| 4. Targeting the lipid transfer in Anopheles gambiae mosquitoes has been found to be a potential way to fight malaria. The study, which was released in PLOS Biology, shows how important lipophorin is for the growth of the malaria bug Plasmodium falciparum. Researchers showed that it is possible to make female mosquitoes sterile by stopping their fat metabolism, especially with broad-spectrum lipase inhibitors. This creative plan could help make mosquito control and malaria prevention better.

| 6. The World Health Assembly created the Global Nutrition Targets (GNTs) to address maternal and child malnutrition. By 2030, the goals are to lower childhood overweight, anemia, and stunting. A recent assessment that was published in The Lancet highlighted the 204 nations’ sluggish progress achieving these goals between 2012 and 2021. According to the data, the majority of countries are unlikely to fulfill the GNTs, which calls for quick action and creative solutions.
