5. The Indian Army has achieved a remarkable feat by setting up the world’s first mobile tower and base transceiver station (BTS) on the Siachen Glacier, the highest battlefield on Earth. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to provide essential mobile communication services to soldiers stationed at an altitude of over 15,500 feet.

4. India’s net direct tax collections have shown impressive growth, increasing by 21.8% to reach ₹9.57 lakh crore by October 9. This achievement has exceeded more than half of the Budget estimates for 2023. Notably, personal income tax revenues saw a significant rise of 32.5%, while corporate taxes increased by 12.4%.

5. During the initial five months of the financial year 2023-24 (FY24), India’s fiscal deficit reached Rs 6.42 trillion. This amount constitutes 36% of the full-year target of Rs 17.87 trillion. In comparison, during the same period in FY23, the fiscal deficit was at 32.6% of the full-year target.
