The government has implemented a revised “model skill loan scheme” with the objective of improving the accessibility of skill development courses by substantially increasing the maximum loan limit. The utmost loan limit has been increased from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh under the new scheme. The old scheme, which was initially introduced in 2015, experienced low adoption as a result of insufficient loan limits.
