10. Three million litres of sewage are dumped into the holy Ganges every day. It is the fifth most polluted river in the world. To reduce the pollution in the river, the Namami Gange Executive Committee recently approved nine projects. These projects are to be implemented at a cost of Rs 1,200 crores.
