9. Ministry of Home Affairs reported that more than 14,500 Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) have been banned in the last five years. Those NGOs were registered under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA). The report was submitted by the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai.

8. Thailand has been elected as a member of the World Heritage Committee. It was selected during the 22nd session of the General Assembly of States Parties to the World Heritage Convention in Paris. The representatives from 193 countries cast their votes to fill nine vacant seats on the 21-member World Heritage Committee. 1. Constitution Day is being celebrated on 26 November across the country to mark the adopting of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly on this day in 1949.
