2. India’s fifth largest private sector lender Yes Bank has listed $600 million bonds issued under its maiden $1 billion MTN programme on Global Securities Market (GSM) of India INX.

1.The Union Government extended the anti-narcotics scheme for 3 more years to combat illicit trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substance. The purpose of the scheme is to assist states and Union Territories, which are contributing in controlling the inter-state and cross-border drug trafficking.

1. India’s 1st Online Radio Station ‘Radio Umang’ was launched recently in India. Listeners can tune in to this online radio station through web streaming or download the app. With 24 hours programming, it has found listeners in Hindi speaking regions of India and in over 60 countries worldwide.

2. Kannada litterateur Chandrashekar Kambar elected as president of the Sahitya Akademi in the election held for the post. He replaced Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari.

3. State-owned Bank of Baroda decided to exit by March-end its South Africa operations after 21 years amid a probe into alleged compliance lapses by the bank there. The bank stated that it is exiting operations in South Africa as part of its strategic plan for rationalization of overseas branches.

2. The central government has approved the construction of over 1.86 lakh more houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) scheme, taking the total number of affordable houses sanctioned to over 39.25 lakhs.

1. Union Minister of State (IC) for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Shri R.K Singh, launched a Web-based monitoring System and a Fly Ash mobile application named ASH TRACK.
केंद्रीय ऊर्जा राज्य मंत्री (आयसी) पॉवर अँड न्यू अॅनवायइएबल एनर्जी, आर.के.सिंह यांनी  ‘ASH ट्रॅक’ नामक वेब आधारित मॉनिटरिंग सिस्टम & फ्लाय एश मोबाईल ऍप्लिकेशन लॉंच केले.

2. According to the International Intellectual Property Index released by the US Chambers of Commerce, India has climbed one place to reach at 44th rank in the list of 50 countries.

7. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has constituted a 13-member advisory committee to monitor and expedite capital acquisition projects for the modernization of the armed forces. It will be headed by Vinay Sheel Oberoi.

9. The Union Cabinet approved schemes worth about Rs 14,930 crore to boost the availability of human resources for health and medical sector, including the establishment of 24 new medical colleges in unreserved areas.
आरोग्य आणि वैद्यकीय क्षेत्रासाठी मानवी संसाधनांची उपलब्धता वाढविण्यासाठी केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडळाने 14,930 कोटी रुपयांच्या योजना राबविल्या, ज्यामध्ये अनारक्षित भागात 24 नवीन वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयाची स्थापना समाविष्ट आहे.

10. The Union cabinet approved a proposal to implement the Prime Minister’s Research Fellows (PMRF) scheme. Under this scheme, the top 3,000 B.tech graduates of the country will get grants to pursue a PhD in the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc).
केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडळाने पंतप्रधानांच्या रिसर्च फेलो (पीएमआरएफ) योजनेची अंमलबजावणी करण्यासाठी एक प्रस्ताव मंजूर केला. या योजनेअंतर्गत देशाच्या टॉप 3,000 बी.टे.चे  पदवीधरांना  इंडियन इंस्टिट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नॉलॉजी (आयआयटी) आणि इंडियन इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ सायन्स (आयआयएससी) मध्ये पीएचडी करणाऱ्यांना अनुदान मिळेल.

8. Indian women’s cricket team pacer Jhulan Goswami become the first woman in the world to take 200 wickets in ODI cricket.

10. Kathakali Maestro Madavoor Vasudevan Nair has passed away. He was 89.
