The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has lately said that they are using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to find a lot of fraud in several state beneficiary programs. CAG K Sanjay Murthy made the announcement about this breakthrough at the second State Finance Secretaries Conference in 2025. The use of AI and ML tools together is changing how audits are done, making them more efficient and open across all government departments

This is part of a bigger attempt to make politics more efficient and keep the electoral system honest. There are now only 2,046 RUPPs left, down from 808 in the last two months.

3. On September 19, 2025, the Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) “Adamya” was put into service at Paradip Port in Odisha. Goa Shipyard Limited designed and built this Adamya-class Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) as the first of eight. This milestone shows that India is becoming stronger at sea and is committed to “Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” with more than 60% of the content coming from India. The ship will work in the ICG Region (North East) from Paradip, which will make coastal security and surveillance stronger.

This species usually migrates along the coast and across wetlands, so these inland stops are unusual for them.

1. The Trump administration took away the sanctions exemptions for Chabahar Port. This makes it harder for India to go to Afghanistan and Central Asia and hurts its strategic position in the area.
The Iran Freedom and Counter-Proliferation Act (IFCA) gave India an exemption in 2018 that helped it move forward with its long-term plan to turn Chabahar Port into a gateway to Afghanistan and Central Asia.ट्रम्प प्रशासनाने चाबहार बंदरासाठी निर्बंधांमधील सूट काढून टाकली. यामुळे भारताला अफगाणिस्तान आणि मध्य आशियात जाणे कठीण होते आणि या क्षेत्रातील त्याच्या धोरणात्मक स्थानाला धक्का बसतो.

1. The current monsoon has delivered abnormally heavy rain to Himalayan regions like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. This has made landslides more likely and pushed river systems to dangerous levels, which puts both lives and infrastructure at greater risk.

3. On September 15, 2025, the trilateral military exercise “Freedom Edge” started. The five-day manoeuvres are taking place in international waters near Jeju Island and involve South Korea, the United States, and Japan. This is the third round of these combined exercises, which have already taken place in June and November of last year. The goal of the exercise is to improve trilateral interoperability and show that all three countries are committed to peace and stability in the region.

5. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has issued a lot more Quality Control Orders (QCOs) in the last three years. Micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) have criticized these necessary QCOs because they see them as expensive and limiting to their operations.

1. The Australian veterinary regulator recently approved the world’s first vaccine to protect koalas from chlamydia infections. The University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland has been working on this for more than ten years. The vaccine is a single-dose treatment that reduces disease symptoms and mortality in wild koala populations by at least 65%. It is now authorised for use in wildlife hospitals, veterinary clinics, and field conservation efforts.

२०२७ मध्ये भारतातील चेन्नई येथे ५वी कोस्ट गार्ड ग्लोबल समिट (CGGS) होणार आहे. भारतीय कोस्ट गार्डच्या ५० व्या वर्धापन दिनानिमित्त हा कार्यक्रम होणार आहे. या समिटचे उद्दिष्ट समुद्रातील देशांमधील सहकार्य सुधारणे आणि तेथे येणाऱ्या नवीन समस्यांना तोंड देणे आहे. २०२५ मध्ये रोममध्ये झालेल्या चौथ्या CGGS मध्ये, जिथे ११५ देश आणि आंतरराष्ट्रीय संघटनांनी भाग घेतला होता, सर्वांनी या समारोपावर एकमत केले.

3. The Pink Tax is still a big problem in 2025. It means that women often pay more than males for the same goods or services. This subtle kind of pricing discrimination based on gender affects the finances of households all around the world. To fight this unfair behaviour, people need to be aware of it and take action. The Pink Tax is not a real tax; it’s a way of pricing things. It indicates that women have to pay more for things or services that are made for them. Women generally pay more for things like haircuts, toys, personal care items, and clothes. Companies get this extra money without having to pay more taxes to the government.

4. On July 17, 2025, the Supreme Court of India made a historic decision that upheld the property rights of tribal women. The decision in Ram Charan and Ors. v. Sukhram and Ors. ruled that leaving daughters out of ancestral property violates their basic right to equality. This verdict is a step toward gender justice in tribal societies where women sometimes can’t inherit property because of traditional laws.

१७ जुलै २०२५ रोजी, भारताच्या सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने आदिवासी महिलांच्या मालमत्तेच्या हक्कांना मान्यता देणारा ऐतिहासिक निर्णय दिला. राम चरण आणि ओर्स विरुद्ध सुखराम आणि ओर्स या प्रकरणातील निकालात असे म्हटले आहे की मुलींना वडिलोपार्जित मालमत्तेपासून दूर ठेवणे त्यांच्या समानतेच्या मूलभूत अधिकाराचे उल्लंघन करते. हा निकाल आदिवासी समाजात लिंग न्यायाकडे एक पाऊल आहे जिथे पारंपारिक कायद्यांमुळे महिलांना कधीकधी मालमत्ता मिळू शकत नाही.

5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened many development projects in Imphal, Manipur, with a total cost of more than ₹1,200 crore. These projects are meant to improve the state’s infrastructure, create jobs, and make life easier. The Manipur Urban Roads Project and the Manipur Infotech Development Project are two of the initiatives that are part of this new era of progress in the area.

6. India just opened its first bioethanol facility made of bamboo in Golaghat, Assam. This milestone is a big step forward for the country’s goals for renewable energy and industrial prosperity. The facility would get bamboo from Assam and the northeastern provinces, which will help farmers and tribal populations. A polypropylene plant foundation was also built to make production in the area stronger. These changes show that India is moving toward renewable energy and becoming more self-sufficient.

7. The Supreme Court of India recently gave detailed instructions to make sure that DNA samples used in criminal investigations are accurate. This step is used to make sure that methods are the same in all states so that forensic analysis doesn’t get contaminated or take longer. The standards came up because of a case involving major crimes when mistakes in handling samples hurt the investigation.

8. India moved up in the Sustainable Development Report (SDR) 2025, going from 100th to 99th out of 167 countries. But urban sustainability is still a big problem under Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG 11). SDG 11 wants cities to be secure, strong, welcoming, and long-lasting. India’s progress on important urban indicators has been poor or even negative. This shows that there are still problems with living conditions, infrastructure, and government in cities.

२०२५ च्या शाश्वत विकास अहवालात (SDR) भारताने १६७ देशांपैकी १०० व्या स्थानावरून ९९ व्या स्थानावर झेप घेतली आहे. परंतु शाश्वत विकास ध्येय ११ (SDG ११) अंतर्गत शहरी शाश्वतता ही अजूनही एक मोठी समस्या आहे.
