1. Japan is ushering in a new age of space research with the launch of the world’s first wooden satellite, LignoSat. Kyoto University and Sumitomo Forestry collaborated on this unique research. The satellite is set to fly next week aboard a SpaceX rocket bound for the International Space Station (ISS).

4. The Madras High Court reported success in removing alien and invasive species from Tamil Nadu’s forests. 7. An significant worldwide effort is underway, coordinated by hundreds of scientists who are producing the GEO-7 report. This effort, launched by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), seeks to solve important environmental concerns. The seventh edition of the Global Environment Outlook (GEO) is scheduled to be released during the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) in December 2025.

1. Recent events have resulted in the publication of the Asia–Pacific (APAC) Climate Report 2024 by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). This report highlights the severe economic implications that climate change is having the Asia–Pacific region.

2. Nearly 400 organizations and people, including 19 Indian companies and two Indian citizens, were sanctioned by the US for allegedly supporting Russia’s military activities in Ukraine.

1. Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 is presently in progress. The event occurs from October 28 to November 3, 2024. The topic for this year is Culture of Integrity for National Prosperity. Rajeev, delivered the integrity promise to officials in Satarkata Bhawan, New Delhi.

The National Large Solar Telescope (NLST) is being built in Ladakh by India to fill this gap. Professor Annapurni Subramaniam is in charge of this project, which aims to help us learn more about what happens in the sun.

5. The “Namo Drone Didi” plan was started by the Indian government. By giving drones to Women Self Help Groups (SHGs), this project wants to give them more power. As part of the DAY-NRLM (Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana), this plan aims to help people in rural areas make a living. The money for it is ₹1261 crores, and it will last from 2024 to 2026. By letting farmers rent drones for farming chores, the goal is to help farms.
