1. The SSLV-D3-EOS-08 mission was initiated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). A miniature satellite intended for Earth observation was launched during this mission. It is the continuation of the SSLV-D2-EOS-07 mission, which was successfully launched in February 2023.

1. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has declared that the ‘Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin’ initiative will be implemented in Maharashtra on August 17. 1. The first flight test of a long-range glide weapon named Gaurav was successfully conducted by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) of India on August 13, 2024.
