1. As a special way to celebrate 23 years of passenger service, the Delhi Metro ran its first train, TS#01. The event celebrated the journey of one of India’s most successful urban mass transit systems, which started in 2002 when metro services first opened in the national capital.

2. The Income-tax Act, 2025 will replace the Income-tax Act, 1961, making the most significant changes to India’s direct tax system in more than 60 years. Starting on April 1, 2026, the new law will apply to money made in the 2025–26 financial year and beyond. The change is a big step toward making tax administration simpler, clearer, and more reliant on technology.

4. The second Prabashi Tripurabasi Summit will be held in Tripura in 2025–26. This is a big step toward reconnecting with people from the state who live outside of its borders. The summit, which will be held in Agartala, aims to strengthen ties between Tripura and its large diaspora, both in India and around the world. The initiative is part of the state government’s larger goal of promoting inclusive growth by getting people who still have emotional and cultural ties to their homeland involved.

5. The Anti-Terror Conference will start on December 26, 2025, in New Delhi. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, will open it. The National Investigation Agency, which is part of the Ministry of Home Affairs in India, is putting on the two-day conference. It will bring together important people who work on counter-terrorism.

6. At a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi today, President Droupadi Murmu released the Constitution of India in the Santhali language. The Constitution has been printed in the Ol Chiki script, which is a big step toward including and empowering Santhali-speaking communities.

1. Kuwait has signed a $4.1 billion deal with China to finish building the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port. This is a big step for the Gulf country in its efforts to make its economy less reliant on oil and play a bigger role in global trade and logistics.

कुवैतने मुबारक अल-कबीर बंदराचे बांधकाम पूर्ण करण्यासाठी चीनसोबत ४.१ अब्ज डॉलर्सचा करार केला आहे. आपल्या अर्थव्यवस्थेची तेलावरील अवलंबित्व कमी करण्यासाठी आणि जागतिक व्यापार व लॉजिस्टिक्समध्ये मोठी भूमिका बजावण्यासाठी आखाती देशाने उचललेले हे एक मोठे पाऊल आहे.

2. On December 23, 2025, the Reserve Bank of India announced a new set of liquidity infusion measures after looking at the current state of liquidity and the economy. These include buying ₹2,00,000 crore worth of Government of India securities through Open Market Operations and a $10 billion Dollar Rupee (USD/INR) Buy/Sell Swap auction for three years, which is meant to ease pressure in the banking and foreign exchange markets.

3. The Union government is almost done writing India’s first full anti-terror policy. The goal of this policy is to give all States a common set of rules for stopping, fighting, and responding to terrorist attacks. Senior officials have said that the policy will deal with new threats like digital radicalization, the abuse of open borders, and foreign-funded conversion networks. This is because security challenges are always changing.

7. Archaeologists have found a rare circular stone maze in the Boramani grasslands of Solapur district in Maharashtra. It is the biggest of its kind ever found in India. Experts think that the formation is almost 2,000 years old, which gives us a lot of information about ancient engineering, trade, and cultural exchange in the subcontinent.

8. The Odisha government has named a senior IAS officer as the new chief secretary. This is a historic event because she is the first woman to hold the state’s highest bureaucratic position. The appointment puts an end to rumors about who will take over and comes just before the current chief secretary retires at the end of December.

4. Desert Cyclone II is the second edition of a joint military exercise between India and the United Arab Emirates.
