8. A World Trade Organization (WTO) Panel has ruled against India in a dispute with the European Union (EU) and other countries over tariffs on information technology (IT) products. The panel found that India had violated the WTO’s Information Technology Agreement (ITA) by imposing tariffs on IT products such as mobile phones and printers, which were supposed to be duty-free. The EU and other countries had filed a complaint with the WTO in 2019, alleging that India had imposed tariffs on these products that were higher than the bound rates it had committed to in the ITA.’
