1. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has moderately scaled down India’s economic growth projection to 7.3 per cent for the current financial year from its earlier forecast of 7.4 per cent.

The Guwahati Railway Station has become the first ever railway station in the Indian Railways to get an ISO certification from the National Green Tribunal (NGT) for ‘providing passenger amenities in a clean and green environment.’ ISO certification received by Guwahati Railway Station is ISO-14001, which is for Environment Management System as per international norms which were upgraded in 2015.

Scientists from the Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology (CCMB), the Research Institute in Hyderabad, Telangana have discovered Murein EndopeptidiaseK, a new enzyme which helps in breaking cell walls of bacteria.  The enzyme Murein EndopeptidiaseK would act on the protein of the cell wall of the bacteria and it can be a potential drug target.

6. Kotak Mahindra Bank (Kotak) told its customers that it will charge customers for UPI transactions starting first of May 2019. The bank said every month, for each Kotak Bank account, the first 30 UPI fund transfers will be free, after which a charge will be levied on all fund transfers from the bank account.
