1. India has picked almost 28% or $ 1.4 billion of AIIB’s total funding for seven projects. Finance Minister, Piyush Goyal said ‘In India, Infrastructure creation requires $4.5 trillion investments over the next 10 years’. India is expecting investment in 9 more infrastructure projects with a funding of $ 2.4 billion from AIIB.

2. Air pollution is affecting trees by causing malnutrition in the form of discolored leaves and excessive falling of leaves in European countries. This research is done by lead researcher Martin Bidartondo from Imperial College London.

1. India has proposed to introduce $240-million retaliatory tariffs on a list of 30 items imported from the US, including motorcycle, certain iron and steel goods, boric acid and lentils. India had asked the US to exempt it from its tariffs on steel and aluminum, but US rejected the request. India has notified the World Trade Organisation (WTO) about the list, including apples, almonds and motorcycles, on which it intends to impose tariffs.
