| 1. According to sources, Sujata Saunik is Maharashtra’s first female Chief Secretary. In a ceremony on June 30, she formally succeeded Nitin Karir in this crucial post. She formerly served as the Additional Chief Secretary (Home). Eknath Shinde, the elected Chief Minister, and Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister, both approved to Sujata Saunik’s election.
