Reverse flipping is the process of shifting the domicile of an Indian company back to India after it had moved its headquarters overseas, usually for tax or regulatory reasons. It is also known as ‘re-domiciling’.

2. In January 2023, US-based short seller Hindenburg Research published a report alleging several improper dealings by Indian conglomerate Adani Group headed by Gautam Adani. The report accused the group of stock manipulation, use of offshore shell companies, and raising debt through public banks to fund unprofitable capital spending among other things. This sparked a massive sell-off of Adani group stocks resulting in the loss of over Rs 4 lakh crore in market value over two days.
