1. The Indian Central government has officially announced the establishment of a fact-checking unit (FCU) inside the Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The FCU has been created to oversee information on social media platforms pertaining to the government’s affairs, in accordance with the newly revised Information Technology Rules.

2. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Pakistan have reached a staff-level agreement regarding the discharge of $1.1 billion of a $3 billion bailout package. The funds, which are essential for the indebted nation to prevent a sovereign default, will be disbursed prior to the expiration of the current agreement on April 11, 2023, following approval by the IMF executive board. Following five days of negotiations between the IMF and the newly elected government of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, the announcement was made.

3. A recent publication has revealed the existence of a minimum of 3,000 more compounds in plastics, surpassing the prior estimations made by environmental organisations. A team of European scientists, financed by the Norwegian Research Council, has completed a research that has found more than 16,000 compounds present in plastics. Approximately 25% of these chemicals are believed to pose a risk to both human health and the environment.
The discovery has sparked considerable apprehension over pollution and the well-being of consumers, especially considering the widespread use of plastics in common objects like food packaging, toys, and medical gadgets.

1. India and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) have recently concluded the Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA).
India previously opposed the inclusion of “data exclusivity” restrictions in the pact, which would have imposed limitations on Indian pharmaceutical businesses in manufacturing generic pharmaceuticals. India and EFTA have reached an agreement to specifically exempt highly “sensitive” agricultural items and imports of gold from the trade agreement.

पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी सशक्त नारी-विक्षित भारत योजनेचा एक भाग म्हणून 11 मार्च 2024 रोजी नमो ड्रोन दीदी प्रकल्पाचे उद्घाटन केले. नवी दिल्ली येथील भारतीय कृषी संशोधन संस्थेत हा सोहळा पार पडला. हा प्रकल्प ग्रामीण भागातील महिलांना कृषी ड्रोनसह सुसज्ज करून आणि त्यांना कृषी अनुप्रयोगांसाठी ड्रोन पायलट म्हणून काम करण्यासाठी आवश्यक कौशल्ये प्रदान करून त्यांची एजन्सी वाढवण्याचा प्रयत्न करतो.

5. The Sahitya Akademi’s Executive Board, led by President Sri Madhav Kaushik, met at Rabindra Bhavan in New Delhi and officially endorsed the choice of 24 novels for the Sahitya Akademi Translation Prize 2023. The books were selected based on suggestions provided by three-member Selection Committees in each language, in accordance with the established norms and procedures. The award acknowledges translations that were initially published from January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2021.
अध्यक्ष श्री माधव कौशिक यांच्या नेतृत्वाखालील साहित्य अकादमीच्या कार्यकारी मंडळाची नवी दिल्लीतील रवींद्र भवन येथे बैठक झाली आणि साहित्य अकादमी अनुवाद पुरस्कार २०२३ साठी २४ कादंबऱ्यांच्या निवडीला अधिकृतपणे मान्यता दिली. पुस्तकांची निवड तीन सदस्यीय निवड समित्यांनी दिलेल्या सूचनांच्या आधारे करण्यात आली. प्रत्येक भाषेत, प्रस्थापित निकष आणि कार्यपद्धतींनुसार. 1 जानेवारी 2017 ते 31 डिसेंबर 2021 या कालावधीत सुरुवातीला प्रकाशित झालेल्या अनुवादांना हा पुरस्कार दिला जातो.
